Every time I find myself at the Barre (the ballet-bar, not the watering hole), I live out a true childhood dream of being a ballerina. Granted, I'm not the most gracious girl in the room, and it is far from all movements that are coordinated elegantly. However, the illusion is intact, and that is the most important.
When the Italian active wear brand, La Movenza, which specialises in clothes and accessories for ballet, yoga and pilates (check, check check) asked, if I wanted to engage in a longer collaboration, it didn't take me long to say "yes". Not only are the clothes beautiful and in the most delicate Italian wool, but they are also designed to be worn in specific active situations, such as ballet, where it essentail that your joints (especially ankles and lower back) are kept warm to be flexible and that you kan sense the body's contour through the clothes, so you can adjust and finetune your positions. The ballet clothes from La Movenza delivers on all points! La Movenza means "the movement" - so it all fits snuggly.
Lately, I've come to do more barre-training rather than classic ballet. Barre is a progression of the strength- and warm-ip programme used by ballet dancers. It is bone-tough, elegant and effective - and even the very well trained are likely to feel the muscles lactate. But it is so worth it because the results are super visible! I do my barre-training at SenseS Studio in Copenhagen, where I also do (a lot of) Hot Yoga and the occasional Cardio Core class. SenseS were also so kind to lend me the studio for the pics where I'm wearing the La Movenza and Leg Warmers in true, ballerina-pink.
